Does your wall pass the Tape Test?

Before installing Kinderly Removable Magnetic Wallpaper, it’s important to make sure your wall is suitable. We recommend performing the “Stick Tape” Test using ordinary packaging tape to check whether the surface can hold the adhesive securely.

The steps are as below and watch the video for more details:

Press a strip of ordinary packing tape onto the wall and rub it flat.

Stick it for 24 hours. If it stays, the wall is suitable.

Walls that are not suitable:

1. Chalky Walls

If powder comes off when you touch the wall, the adhesive may not bond properly.

2. Damp or Wet Walls

The wall must be completely clean and dry before installation.

3. Glossy or Washable Paint

Resistant, washable, glossy, or shiny paint finishes may prevent the wallpaper from adhering securely.

4. Dirty or Dusty Walls

Wipe down with a damp cloth first. Skip harsh cleaning products as they can weaken the adhesive.

5. Freshly Painted Walls

Fresh paint needs sufficient time to fully cure. We recommend waiting 30–60 days, depending on the type of paint used.

6. Peeling/Cracked Paint

Surfaces that are already peeling, cracked, or deteriorating may become damaged during installation or removal.

7. Highly Textured Surfaces & Wallpaper

Uneven surfaces can make it difficult for the magnetic wallpaper to adhere properly. We also recommend avoiding wallpapered surfaces, as adhesion can vary depending on the wallpaper finish.

Important to Know

Minor surface marks can happen during application or removal as this is a normal part of using a removable adhesive product on a painted wall. Kinderly cannot be held responsible for any wall damage that occurs when putting up or taking down the product.
